My Story, by Alexis Nye
I am intrigued by your support group; my heart goes out to any mother, father, family that has to witness and experience the terrors of having a loved one, especially a child, who is on ice.
While I know there have been untold "success" stories using community and conventional resources this was not our path. Mostly because you have to have the permission of the ice-user and that comes often slowly, if at all. The frustration of having an adult child trying to kill themselves and no legal support to stop them is a terrible thing to bear.
All in all, as you know, the toll it takes on us emotionally and in our case financially, is horrifying.
For us the worst of it dragged on for over five years, loss, loss, loss; the loss of her home, children (our grandchildren) her dignity, her brothers and sisters.....and then there was us, shell shocked, bleeding every day.......
I appreciate the "turning away" the coping by moving forward with our own lives..........but in order to do this you must crucify yourself as a mother and die to a love that you can't really die to. Going on without her was nothing we could do.........Hoping for the best wasn't enough..........
After leaving Hawaii she was alone in Washington State and had fallen into the hands of murderous gang dealers. By this time she was shooting meth and death was not far off.
This is when we gathered up all we knew in the spirit and began to pray......we realized that this drug (where it originated and for what purpose) was nothing short of a demonic strong hold that had to be broken over her life..........We didn't have time for counseling or "Process" we had to have her NOW.
The result is that she has been drug free and back in her right mind for the past two years. As you know when coming off of ICE there is still great mental confusion for many months following. She is alive and we know its because the God we serve is faithful and prayer works! She herself knows what God has done and gives glory to Him for delivering her.
Because of the nature of what I've just written I don't expect you to publish or use it. People who do not have a relationship with Christ aren't always open to the process of prayer, but thought I'd share with you.
The poem I have attached you are welcome to use; I imagine parents will be able to relate to it.
Thanks for your time,
Alexis Nye

A STORY
When I was a little girl, my mom left me! I was born and within a couple of weeks, she was gone! She never came home and that’s because she was too high on ice or marijuana! She never had time for me, only the drugs and
alcohol! I felt very lonely cuz I didn’t have my mother and I never had a father either! He left when I was two. See, my point in this story is, why do drugs , when it affects everyone, especially the generation that you’re supposed to be setting a good example for? We don’t have to do drugs to feel good. You’ve got family and friends to hang with and have fun with, without using drugs!
We meet at Aoki
